I´m an architect in Brazil and I´m studying Genetic Algorithm. How can I get this source (Tile Designer) code from you?
Waiting for your answer,

Nice, always thought of implementing multiple languages this way, but never done it since there was no need yet. Nice to see it works like a charm :)

I'm working with FlashDevelop here and unless the font is set to be exported for ActionScript, it doesn't work.

yeah, i guess that's true, somewhat irritatingly. One solution that suggested itself was the idea that as SignalBox & ISignalBox have to imported, to put the constants in there. But not in SignalBox itself, but extend SignalBox into a new class that only features said constants, like this:

package model
{
  import uk.co.richtextformat.signals.SignalBox;
  import uk.co.richtextformat.signals.ISignalBox;

  public class MyAppsSignalBox extends SignalBox implements
        ISignalBox
  {
    public static const DO_SUMMAT:String = 'DoSummat';
    public static const DO_SUMMAT_ELSE:String = 'DoSummatElse';
  }
}

altho equally, that's not ideal either...

Nice work Rich!

One thing that occurs to me is that by removing the concrete Signal definitions you are swapping a dependency on a function defined by an interface for a dependency on a static string in a concrete class.

So, rather than:
signalBox.textDisplaySignal.add(onDisplayText);
you are using:
signalBox.addListener(TextProxy.DISPLAY_TEXT, onDisplayText);

Which means that the TextProxy class would need to be included. You also lose the benefit of strong typing for the Signals. I think that my system is far from perfect though, so it'd be interesting to see if there is a way to combine the two :)

As an added note to "1. Create a fonts swc"... if you checked "Export swc" in the publish settings and the SWC file still isn't being created, make sure you set the font to be exported for ActionScript.

To check, right-click the font in the library and choose Properties, then in the "Linkage" section, check "Export for ActionScript." (If you don't see a linkage section and have a button marked "Advanced", click that button to go to the advanced view; you'll see it there.) You may get a message "A definition for this class could not be found in the classpath, so one will be automatically generated in the SWF file upon export" -- that is fine.
